AT CHEER AUSTIN Y'all Means All

We would say ~95% of our members come to us 10+ years after they thought they’d retired from cheerleading. There’s no time like the present to jump back in! Always wanted to be a cheerleader but never had the opportunity? NOW IS YOUR CHANCE! No experience required to join Cheer Austin!

Yes, this is an adult volunteer organization. All members must be 18 years or older. But if you are thinking “I’m too old.” Nope! We have members of all ages 18 - 45+.

There is a yearly financial contribution of $200 and uniform cost of approximately $175.

We have two performing teams - Cheer Austin Stunt and Cheer Austin Pom. Both teams participate in all of our performance and fundraising opportunities. Both teams will cheer and perform cadences. But if stunting is not for you and you love to dance - join Cheer Austin Pom, who will focus on pom routines and hip hop dances.

We practice every Thursday night at 8:00pm - 10:00pm at the Westlake Athletic and CommunityCenter:

Yes, new members should attend at least one clinic and the showcase. Should you have any conflicts with these dates, please let us know in advance, so we can discuss what options are available. Be mindful that you are responsible for knowing and presenting the material that is taught at the clinics on the showcase date.

Communication is key in being successful with Cheer Austin. Please let us know as soon as possible if you are unable to make it to a clinic and/or showcase. Leadership will discuss what accommodations/options will be considered.

Please bring your ID and a copy of your health insurance card. We will need both of these for the liability waiver. Wear athletic wear to clinics - athletic shoes (white if you have them), black bottoms and a navy top. Flyers are required to have cheerleading shoes.

Performance is a team effort and requires regular attendance from all performing members. Attendance requirements will be discussed further at clinics.

We practice weekly on Thursday’s from 8:00 pm –10:00 pm, with certain holidays off throughout the year. In addition, there are several mandatory performances throughout the year, which could require a half to a full day of your time, depending on call times. We also have several optional events during the season.

We are looking for individuals who love to fundraise. Cheer Austin uses cheerleading as an avenue to raise money for local nonprofits that deal with life threatening challenges and support the LGBTQ+ community. We also expect you to possess a willingness to learn, the ability to follow through on commitments, and a smile to inspire the crowds.
